Scaling up of community-based organizations requires transformation of organizations themselves and development of leadership consistent with both core values and new demands. An important part of IMAGO’s practice is to work in this space, typically involving in-depth, “co-creative” processes with the organizations. While this is a domain with an established professional tradition, its adaptation to community-based organization is much less developed, and IMAGO is adapting techniques jointly with the organization, in a process that has many of the characteristics of reverse innovation. Key references from the established tradition are listed below. In the future IMAGO will be codifying the adapted techniques.
